What is the BEE Scorecard?
The BBBEE system includes 5 elements (totaling 100 points + 13 bonus).
For companies with turnover over R50 million, the full scorecard applies.
To comply, a company must meet at least 40% in each of the 3 priority elements.

Elements and Weightings:
Ownership (25 points)
% of Black ownership, voting rights, and net value (after debt).
Management Control (19 + 4 bonus)
Black representation at board and management levels; bonuses for women and disabled staff.
Skills Development (20 + 5 bonus)
Spend on training Black staff, internships, learnerships, and absorption.
Enterprise & Supplier Development (40+4 bonus)
Procurement from Black-owned suppliers; investment in Black entrepreneurs.
Socio-Economic Development (5 points)
At least 1% of Net Profit After Tax must go to qualifying Black-beneficiary initiatives.
